Making of Dried Berry Sauce
Main Ingredients:
Turkey berry (sundakkai) 1 cup
Tamarind an amla size
Sambar powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder a pinch
Asafoetida 1/2 tbsp
Fenugreek powder 1 tbsp
Mustard 1 tbsp
Jaggery 1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil
Water
Tamarind Soaking
Take a cup of warm water
Soak an amla size of tamarind for 15 minutes
Dried berry sauce preparation
Take a tawa and add 2 tbsl oil on a medium flame
Add mustard and let it pop out
Add turkey berry(sundakkai) and saute
Now add turmeric, asafoetida, fenugreek powder, sambar powder and saute for few seconds
Now pour soaked, filtered tamarind juice and bring it to boil
Add jaggery and salt to taste give a good mix
Let it boil to a thick consistency (refer image)
Add little water and boil for 2 minutes on a low flame
Dried berry sauce ready
